Leslie and Josh say “I do”

by Katie on April 14, 2012

The first meeting I had with Leslie and Josh was at her sister, Erica’s wedding. The entire family was warm and fun and full of love so I was thrilled when Leslie called to say she was interested in my wedding packages and wanted to meet. I loved seeing the family again, and loved hat her dad told me at the end of the wedding that he had no more daughters so this would be it… :) I simply said, I shoot maternity and family too… hint, hint. :)

The wedding and reception was at the beautiful Duncan Estate complete with catering by Bagatelle and delicious cake by Delightful Designs. It was all simple stunning and I was thrilled to be a part of it. Best Wishes to you both!!

A beautiful spring morning

by Katie on April 8, 2012

The man I married grew up outdoors — he loved to go “tent camping” and “RV camping” and even would camp out in his backyard. In my childhood, the only time I was outdoors was in the daylight…never to sleep. So many people said, it must be love when we continued dating and even married since we were quite different in that regard. I did try camping once while we were dating and had to honestly admit it just wasn’t something that I could enjoy. However, this past weekend, his dad wanted to have a breakfast picnic in the woods behind their house and I was ok with that. In fact, it was quite lovely! It was quite the feast — there were scrambled eggs, real bacon (not turkey bacon which is what my husband has learned to love), sausage links, blueberry pancakes and cheese grits! MMMM – MMMM! There was a crisp chill in the air, but the sun shown beautifully through the trees giving some fun playful dappled light which my camera enjoyed. But my favorite scenery was of course the “little people” present! My nieces and nephews whom I just can’t get enough of! (and neither can my camera. :) ) ENjoy!

It was such a thrill for me to be able to shoot the engagement session for Amy and Bob. Amy is my cousin — second, I think…I get so confused on the numbers regardless of how many times my family tries to explain it to me! I just know we are related and that’s good [...]

True Love Stays

March 11, 2012

There is a Christian youth campaign in churches called “True Love Waits” and it’s goal is to encourage teenagers and young adults to pledge to stay sexually pure until marriage. I remember making a pledge during my days in my Christian high school with many others that attended my school and church. Recently, I heard [...]

I have known Casey since we were in kindergarten together and we were close friends from that day through our senior year of high school. We went to separate colleges but still remained to get together at least twice a year (usually Christmas and summer) and catch up on everything — and I mean, EVERYTHING. [...]
